TV Vijesti has been the most viewed TV station in Montenegro since December 2016, with the most popular informative programme since the beginning of measuring of such data (e.g. Vijesti’s news show at 18:30h has been the most viewed TV content in Montenegro since January 2015, according to all available research).

By the end of 2022, Televizija Vijesti had 68 employees. However, part of their administrative staff is shared with the daily ”Vijesti” and portal ”Vijesti online” but there is no precise publicly available information on the ratio.

A major change in ownership occurred in 2022 when the United Media s.a.r.l. became the majority shareholder in Televizija Vijesti by acquiring 51% shares from previous owners. However, some of those individuals, through their family members, kept part of the shares in Televizija Vijesti. They are owners of MNE Media Two d.o.o., which holds 32% shares in the Televizija Vijesti d.o.o.

According to the Agency for Electronic Media (AEM) report, TV Vijesti has the highest in-house production of content compared to other commercial broadcasters in Montenegro – about 38%.

TV Vijesti is published by Televizija Vijesti d.o.o. registered in Montenegro. Daily Press doo has three shareholders: United Media S.A. R.L. (51%), Mne Media Two d.o.o. (32,21%) and Media Development Investment Fund, INC (16,79%)
MNE Media Two registered in Podgorica has eight shareholders: Andrej Perović (43,66%), Dunja Ivanović (38,08%), Jana Mitrović (5,26%) and five other owners with less than five percent of ownership. United Media S.A.R.L. is a subsidiary of United Group registered in the Netherlands, and has a very complex ownership structure, where reportedly Dragan Solak controls at least 35,89%, however access to the Netherlands’ Register of Ultimate Beneficial Owners is currently unavailable.

Media Development Investment Fund

Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF) is a not-for-profit investment fund for independent media in countries where access to free and independent media is under threat. The founder is Saša Vučinić, a Serbian journalist and is the co-founder of North Base Media VC, and co-founder and former CEO and Managing Director of the Media Development Loan Fund. He established B92 in Serbia, during Slobodan Milosevic’s regime as a legal entity and was its first CEO.

The CEO of Televizija Vijesti d.o.o. and other affiliated media companies – Daily Press d.o.o. the publisher of the daily „Vijesti“ and portal „Vijesti Online“. Marijana Bojanić is also a minority shareholder in the Daily Press d.o.o.
Bojanić started her journalistic career in 1999 in the weekly Monitor, and since 2008, she has been working at TV Vijesti – first as a journalist and later on as the CEO of the media outlet. Bojanić graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy. She is the winner of several awards in relation to journalism, management and philanthropy. She is also a Vice President of the Association of Managers of Montenegro.

Audience shares are missing, since there is no credible centralized audience measuring mechanism in the country.
